Global Data Tracker: country-level sanitation data explorer
Abstract
Free browser-based exploration of published country-level statistics on access to at least basic sanitation. The interface provides historical indicator views, source references, reporting years and CSV downloads linked to a dated release. It can support an introductory exercise in checking indicator definitions, reproducing a comparison from downloaded data, distinguishing percentage-point change from relative change, and separating observation years from release dates. National averages do not describe household-level inequality or establish causality, and a source-provided world aggregate is not an unweighted country average. GDT is an exploration layer rather than the producer of the underlying statistics. Classroom effectiveness has not been evaluated. The source data remains subject to its publishers’ terms; this submission does not assert a blanket open licence for the website. Submitted by Ben from Global Data Tracker for curator review.
