درجات حرِّيَّة الباحث [Researcher degrees of freedom]
تعريف: يشير إلى المرونة الكامنة في كثير من الأحيان في العمليَّة العلميَّة، بدءً من إنشاء الفرضيَّات، وتصميم وإجراء دراسة بحثيَّة إلى معالجة البيانات وتحليلها وكذلك تفسير النَّتائج والإبلاغ عنها. ونظرًا لعدم وجود نظريَّات محدَّدة بدقّة، أو أدلَّة تجريبيَّة، غالبًا ما تكون القرارات المتعدِّدة مبرَّرة بنفس القدر، وبشكل متساوٍ. ويستخدم المصطلح أحيانًا للإشارة إلى الاستخدام الانتهازي، أو السّيء لهذه المرونة بهدف تحقيق النَّتائج المرجوّة -على سبيل المثال عند إدراج بيانات معيّنة أو استبعادها - على الرُّغم من حقيقة أنَّ المصطلح من النَّاحية الفنيَّة ليس محملًا بهذا المعنى بطبيعته. المصطلحات ذات الصِّلة: المرونة التَّحليليَّة، حديقة المسارات المتشعبِّة، نموذج عدم اليقين، تحليل الأكاون المتعدِّدة، قرصنة القيمة الاحتماليَّة، المتانة (في التحليلات)، تحليل منحنى المواصفات
