Data Access and Research Transparency (DA-RT)
Definition: Data Access and Research Transparency ( DA-RT) is an initiative promoting data access and research transparency across different methodological and epistemological traditions in the social sciences. It began in 2010 as an ad hoc committee of the American Political Science Association (APSA). Its activities contributed to the 2014 Journal Editors’ Transparency Statement (JETS), whose signatories committed to requiring access to cited data at publication, consistent data citation, transparent descriptions of analytical procedures, access to relevant analytical materials where possible, and corresponding updates to journal policies. JETS allows editors to grant exemptions for restricted data.
