Olasılık fonksiyonu [Likelihood function]
Tanım: Frekansçı (sıklıkçı) ve Bayesyen analizlerde kullanılan, bir orantının sabitine kadar tanımlanmış istatistiksel bir modeldir. Bir olasılık fonksiyonu, veri göz önünde bulundurulduğunda dağılımınız için farklı parametrelerin olasılığını temsil eder. Olasılık dağılımlarının bilinmeyen popülasyon parametreleri olduğu varsayıldığında, olasılık fonksiyonu örnek verilerin bu parametreleri ne kadar iyi özetlediğini gösterir. Here, then, the likelihood function would describe a curve or hypersurface whose peak, if it exists, represents the combination of model parameter values that maximize the probability of drawing the sample obtained.
