Tip S hata [Type S error]
Tanım: Tip S hata, bir araştırmacının gözlemlenen etkinin yönünü gerçekte olduğunun tersi olarak yorumlaması durumunda meydana gelir. Örneğin, gerçek etkisi negatif olan bir durumu pozitif olarak rapor etmek ya da tam tersi, bir Tip S hatasıdır. (Buradaki S harfi, İngilizcede ‘işaret/yön’ anlamlarına gelen ‘sign’ kelimesinden gelmektedir.)
