The results of our replication study of the OBPR meta-analysis with a sample of 1095 primary studies reveal a small positive but statistically significant impact of family influence on firm performance. Contrary to the results of the original study, we found a general outperformance of family firms and significant moderation effects in the exact replication with studies published before 2009.
