Enhancing the Television-Viewing Experience through Commercial Interruptions
Has this study been replicated?
The atlas records 1 replication and 1 reproduction of this study. Recorded outcomes: 2 failed. The earliest on record is from 2025.
Replications
- SCORE new data replication of Nelson et al. (2009), Leahy et al. (2025). Outcome recorded: failed.
"The replication of the claim was unsuccessful according to the SCORE criteria. Specifically, for stage 1 data collection (analytic N = 380), we found no significant difference between conditions. For stage 2 (with additional participants, analytic N = 1125), we found a significant difference between conditions in the opposite direction.
Outcome read from OSF report.
Reproductions
- Reproduction (with author data): Nelson et al. (2009, Journal of Consumer Research), Loomas et al. (2022). OSF. Outcome recorded: computational issues, robustness not checked.
Computational: Claim "single-trace": "Based on these criteria, the claim did not reproduce" (t=2.4466 vs original t=2.43, outside precise threshold); Claim "gpp38z": "Based on these criteria, the claim did reproduce." Mixed results across the two claims.
Outcome read from Computational: per-claim Reproduction outcome statements. View paper
