This study replicated Richmond et al.'s (1987) study on nonverbal immediacy and cognitive learning (H1b), with statistically significant relationships (p < .01) between nonverbal immediacy and learning loss (r = -.49), nonverbal immediacy and perceived learning (r = .46) [...]. Correlations in the replication study revealed weaker relationships overall between nonverbal immediacy behaviors and both learning loss and perceived learning.
