Replications
- SCORE new data replication of Bartels & Urminsky (2015), Chandler & Kline Struhl (2026). Outcome recorded: failed.
I found that though people were less willing to make a purchase when opportunity costs were salient (as reported by Frederick et al., 2019), this tendency was not moderated by how connected people felt to their future self. Thus, the focal hypothesis of Bartels and Urminsky (2015) was unsuccessful according to SCORE criteria.
Outcome read from OSF report.
